Retina in the palm of your hand: 5.one" Mirasol display on 2560×1440 pixels
Our colleagues from Engadget attended the current Sid Display Week exhibition dedicated to displays technologies. Among the stands there was one with very interesting exhibits, namely Mirasol touch color screens (combine the capabilities of E-Ink and LCD).
The first of them is a prototype of a smartphone from 5.1-inch screen with “retinov” resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. This is actually a density of 577 ppi, which now no LCD coupling can boast. In addition, such a display is 6 times more energy than an analogue on OLED.
The second copy was the prototype of “smart” hours from 1.6 “Touch screen. Its pixel density also has 577 ppi, although the resolution is not the most impressive – 600×600 points.
Representatives of Qualcomm, who owns the rights to Mirasol, said that 5.The 1 -inchovik is still far from falling on commercial rails – “several” years will pass, at least. But 1.6 “will soon debut in the devices of small independent manufacturers.
