In the town of Pichri-Korners, Georgia (USA), the new public transport system has been deployed in the Curiosity Lab technology park. A park of 100 electric scooters converted for unmanned vehicles will come to the calls of the technology park in test mode to check the effectiveness of the concept. Initially, the experiment was going to launch in January, but the pandemic of coronavirus made its adjustments.

Due to coronavirus, it is still impossible to activate the main function of scooters-free movement between addressees along optimal routes. Instead, today the devices leave the base to the point where customers select them, and after the trip they themselves return to the base. They are disinfected, recharged and entered by a trip to the journal. The technopark, although a separate, but not isolated zone, so there is a risk of a virus transfer from one passenger to another.

Scooters are not a direct alternative to a taxi, and not only because you can’t sit down and relax here. One of the goals of the project is a practical check whether tiny drones can move around the city without provoking an accident without stopping on sidewalks and maintaining the optimal speed mode.

At the first stage, scooters will move inside a technopark with an area of 200 hectares, where 1000 people live and work another 7.5 thousand. Go X has created an application for the connection of scooters and passengers, and Tortoise has developed a remote positioning system. Subsequently, such services will form the basis of the Smart City Transport System.
