Facebook will tell you who post your photos

Facebook will tell you who post your photos

Folk wisdom says that everyone has a friend who spoils the photos. And if it is you, on Facebook announced a new tool for protecting the personality of the user Photo Review. He will help to track pictures with your participation on the pages of friends or strangers.

How it works

Even if you were not noted in the picture – the person recognition technology will recognize you and report a new photo. After that, you can note yourself in the image, ignore the notice or clarify that the photo is not you. If this is not the most successful shot, for example, during the New Year’s corporate party, you can ask the author of the picture quickly to remove it until the boss or talkative colleagues noticed it.

But the function does not work in cases where the picture is protected by privacy settings.

Why is it necessary

Thus, Facebook is fighting not only with “drunken” photos, but also with thefts of personalities. That is, if someone puts your portrait on the avatar, posing as another person-you can respond and bring the impostor to clean water. If desired, the face recognition function can be disabled in the settings.

In the near future, the update will work in almost all countries. It will reach Canada and the EU a little later.
