CES 2019: Prototype Sandisk flash drive on 4 TB
At the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 exhibition, Western Digital demonstrated a prototype of the Sandisk brand with a record volume of 4 terabytes.
Enough for everything
To transfer data, the flash drive uses the good old USB Type-C, but you should not hope very much through a year or two to get it for use. Indeed, despite the inspiring characteristics, the drive is unlikely to go into a series due to high cost and low profitability – it is much better to use SSD to work with such a volume of material, it is corny faster. So this device is rather just a demonstration of Sandisk capabilities. Moreover, the manufacturer did not name the release date and cost.
